Drug Take Back a Huge Success
WHEN was pleased to partner with the Town of Webster, the Webster Police Department, and Senator Helming to host one of our most successful Drug Take Back events yet! In just four hours, Webster residents cleared their medicine cabinets of 743 lbs of unwanted medication! We are grateful to the 221 drivers who participated. Participants could scan our QR code on site and enter a drawing for a $100 VISA gift card. Congratulations to Sarah C. whose name was randomly drawn from all entrants.
If you missed the drop off event, you can take your unused meds to the Webster Police Department on weekdays from 8:30 am - 4:30pm. You will find a drop off bin in the lobby (photos below). See details.
WHEN’s Red Ribbon Week Trivia Challenge prize recipient is Ryan L. Thank you to all who participated in our social media challenge designed to share prevention facts.

WHEN is Out and About!
You may have seen us at the recent West Webster Fire Department Open House or the Village Trick or Treat Trail where we handed out 512 puzzles and games, hundreds of WHEN bags and pens, and of course loads of candy, Now that in-person events are happening again, be on the lookout for our table and volunteers in WHEN shirts, and be sure to stop and say "hi"!
Community Scans Underway
Several WHEN volunteers will be "in the field" this week conducting community scans with the goal of collaborating with partners to improve safety in areas of opportunity. Thank you Linda, Dave, Jane, Steve, Brenda, Dustin and Carolyn!
"In a world where you can be anything, be kind."

We meet online via Google Meet the second Wednesday of each month at noon. Many of us join during our lunch break. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. In fact, our goal is to have representation from all walks of life, to better meet the needs of the whole community.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, November 10th at noon. Simply register here to receive the meeting link, or email Janine Sanger, Executive Director for more information.
'Tis the season for giving thanks and we’d like to recognize all the local members and volunteers who fuel our efforts to empower Webster kids to grow up strong and substance free. Thank you for attending meetings, sharing your ideas and experiences, lending a hand at events, and helping to create and refine meaningful programs. Your work makes Webster safer for kids and a better home for all of us. Happy Thanksgiving!
You can’t be there for others if you’re not well yourself. Invest in your own wellness in whatever ways possible as we head into the busy holiday season. Restoring your mind and body will help you interact with those around you with grace and kindness. They deserve that, and so do you!
